Three suspects held after Juhu shooting; Mumbai Police say motive unclear
Mumbai police on Monday said none of the three men arrested in connection with the firing at actor Tiger Shroff is a minor and that two of the accused fired between five and six rounds at the vehicle. The suspects were detained from a train at Kota while apparently travelling away from Mumbai, officials said.
Addressing a press conference, Deputy Commissioner of Police Raj Tilak Roshan said one of the arrested persons is 18 years old and the other two are 22. Two of the three are from Haryana and one from Bihar, he added. Roshan said the motorcycle used by the assailants was recovered from the Andheri area of Mumbai.
"No weapon was recovered from three suspects. We are bringing them to Mumbai from Rajasthan,"
The three were apprehended from the general coach of the Pune–Jaipur Superfast Express when it halted at Kota at 10.17 am, Kota Superintendent of Police Tejaswani Gautam said. The operation to detain them was described as swift, taking around 15 minutes, according to the Kota police statement.
Names, origins and alleged connections
Kota police identified two of the detained men as Ritik alias Roshan from Begusarai in Bihar and Rehan from Sonipat in Haryana. The third accused's name has not been disclosed publicly so far. Mumbai Police said they are bringing the trio from Rajasthan to Mumbai for further investigation and interrogation.
Mumbai investigators said two of the arrested assailants had fired at the actor's car during an incident in Juhu on Sunday evening. The shooting, captured on video, showed gunshots being fired at close range at the vehicle. Actor Tiger Shroff
escaped relatively unhurt; his driver and a bystander sustained injuries.
Evidence, leads and ongoing inquiries
Police said no weapon was recovered from the three suspects at the time of arrest. Roshan told reporters that there had been no earlier complaint about any threat to the actor and that the motive for the firing is yet to be ascertained. Investigators plan to determine motive after detailed interrogation of the arrested men.
During initial enquiries, Mumbai Police said one of the accused, Rehan, was found to be in touch with Anil Pandit, an alleged associate of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. Pandit, described in reporting as a 32-year-old US-based man from Panipat, has circulated an audio clip in which he purportedly claims the attack was related to the actor's association with Salman Khan. Police have flagged the clip but said the motive remains unproven pending interrogation and corroboration.

City investigators are coordinating with Rajasthan police to complete legal formalities for transfer and custodial interrogation. Officials said they will examine mobile records, train CCTV, ballistic evidence from the scene and any digital communications that could establish planning, direction or links to organised crime networks.

Police said the probe will also examine claims circulated on social platforms. Investigators noted that while an audio clip attributed to Anil Pandit has been widely shared online, its contents and any link to the arrested men require verification. Until forensic and testimonial evidence is examined, Mumbai Police maintained that the motive remains under investigation.
The incident has renewed attention on the safety of public figures and the policing of armed attacks in the city. Authorities indicated they will pursue all investigative leads, including possible conspirators, handlers or facilitators, while ensuring the accused are produced before the competent court once custody transfer is complete.
