BAREILLY — Security has been bolstered at the Bareilly residence of retired Deputy Superintendent of Police Jagdish Singh Patani, father of actor Disha Patani, after a recent firing incident involving actor Tiger Shroff, officials said on Tuesday.

Police step up protection and surveillance

Circle Officer (City-I) Ashutosh Shivam visited the Patani home to review security preparations, inspect closed‑circuit cameras installed inside and outside the premises, and issue directions to personnel deployed there. Officers said personnel are now stationed round the clock and surveillance in the surrounding neighbourhood has been intensified as a precaution.

Shivam also spoke with Jagdish Singh Patani about the security plan and directed that police remain alert and immediately inform senior officers about any suspicious activity, according to a police statement. Authorities had inspected the residence on Monday as well.

Background of previous attacks and the ongoing probe

The heightened protection follows a string of last-year incidents at the same address. Police records show the Patani residence was targeted in firing on 11 and 12 September 2025. Investigators said one round was fired on the first day and an estimated 10–12 rounds were discharged the following day.

The investigation initially pointed to possible involvement of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang; names associated with the Rohit Godara and Goldy Brar gangs also emerged during the probe. A subsequent joint operation by the Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force and the Delhi Police Special Cell in Ghaziabad’s Tronica City led to the killing of two alleged shooters.

"Personnel have been deployed round the clock as a precautionary measure, while surveillance in the surrounding area has also been intensified," Circle Officer Ashutosh Shivam said.

Police identified six suspects during the course of inquiry. A chargesheet was filed against four accused; two suspects, named as Ravindra alias Kullu and Arun, were killed on 17 September 2025 in that joint operation, the police said. Two juveniles alleged to have fired a shot on the first day were apprehended and sent to a juvenile correction facility, and other accused were lodged in the Bareilly district jail.

Event Date Outcome
Initial firing at Patani residence 11 Sept 2025 One round fired; juvenile apprehended
Second day firing 12 Sept 2025 10–12 rounds fired; further suspects identified
Joint STF–Delhi Police operation 17 Sept 2025 Two alleged shooters (Ravindra alias Kullu, Arun) killed
Chargesheet and custody Following investigation Chargesheet vs 4; 2 juveniles sent to facility; others in district jail

Local residents said the renewed visible police presence has reassured neighbours while also drawing attention to wider security concerns following the incident involving Tiger Shroff’s vehicle, which prompted the latest review. Police have not publicly linked every incident or named additional suspects beyond those already recorded in the September 2025 probe.

  • Security posture: Round-the-clock deployment and intensified neighbourhood surveillance.
  • Investigation status: Six suspects identified; chargesheet filed against four; two alleged shooters killed in an earlier operation.
  • Community impact: Increased police visibility around a high‑profile residence in the city.

Officials said the tightened security is a precautionary measure while the police continue to monitor developments. No fresh arrests or charges have been announced in connection with the most recent firing incident reported in October, and the administration said it will provide updates as the investigation proceeds.
